Baxters Foods Australia is seeking a Quality Assurance & Compliance Assistant to play a hands-on role in maintaining and continuously improving our food safety and quality systems across our manufacturing operations at our Campbellfield site.
This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced production environment with strong systems, supportive leadership and a collaborative team. As we enter an exciting growth phase, we’re looking for someone who is keen to grow with us.
This role is critical to ensuring food safety, quality standards and regulatory compliance across our afternoon operations, generally 12pm to 8pm.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation and maintenance of the Food Safety Program in line with legislation and standards
Drive food safety and quality compliance across production, maintenance and warehouse operations
Conduct routine inspections, audits and internal reviews
Investigate non-conformances, perform root cause analysis and close corrective actions
Maintain and update food safety documentation, procedures and records
Support microbiological, chemical and physical testing programs
Manage and investigate customer complaints through to resolution
Analyse quality data to identify trends and continuous improvement opportunities
What you’ll bring
Relevant qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or similar (preferred)
Experience in QA/Compliance within food manufacturing (1–2 years preferred)
Knowledge of BRC and major retailer standards (e.g. Woolworths, Coles)
Exposure to HACCP and quality systems, including internal audits
Familiarity with Halal, Kosher, or Organic standards (desirable)
Strong attention to detail with solid documentation skills
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to prioritise
Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team
Ability to work autonomously while supporting afternoon shift operations
